The CAFO Summit has become the national hub for what Christianity Today called, “the burgeoning Christian orphan care movement.” Last year’s conference drew 2,500 foster and adoptive parents, orphan advocates, pastors and leaders from 30 countries. Faith to Action was honored to attend. Together, we explored effective foster care, adoption, family preservation and global orphan ministry.

CAFO 2016 will include unforgettable plenary sessions with top national and global speakers, stirring music, workshops, and an array of one-of-a-kind experiences you won’t find anywhere else. This year, Christian Alliance for Orphans (CAFO), in partnership with the Faith to Action Initiative, is sponsoring a two-day Family-Based Care Track focused specifically on promoting and supporting family care for vulnerable children. This two-day track is designed for practitioners, organizational and church leadership, as well as donors and supporters, to provide diverse ideas, strategies, tools, and personal connections with practical experience to make family care possible in their unique settings.

For some, this will mean learning more about how to transitioning their models of care from orphanage care towards sustainable, family support services that enable families to care for their children. For others, they can learn from their peers about effective approaches to incorporate into their work. And for others, it will be an onramp to additional learning and access to new tools to better understand how family care can work in a variety of contexts.

We hope you can join leaders from across the country and around the world at First Baptist Orlando on May 5 – 6, 2016 in Orlando, Florida! For those that won’t be able to attend, make sure to follow us Twitter for up-to-date information from various sessions.
